🐺 A rock band with wolf heads set foot in South America for the first time. You might know their music from Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia, or Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. MAN WITH A MISSION ran a world tour across 10 cities in 7 countries, including first-ever stops in Chile and Brazil, and shared the main stage with Iron Maiden in Spain.

What "MARKING NEW GROUND" Means

MAN WITH A MISSION (often called MWAM or "ManWith" by Japanese fans) announced the "MAN WITH A MISSION WORLD TOUR 2026 -MARKING NEW GROUND-" in February 2026. It opened in San Francisco on May 14 and wrapped at Spain's Resurrection Fest on July 1.

The tour title carries a clever double meaning. "Marking New Ground" literally translates to "breaking into uncharted territory," but it also references how wolves mark their territory with scent, a fitting metaphor for a band whose members famously perform wearing wolf heads. The newly released concept visual captures this idea: wolves advancing toward new lands, leaving their mark as they go.

Who (or What) Is MAN WITH A MISSION?

If you're not familiar, here's the short version: MAN WITH A MISSION is a five-piece rock band from Japan whose members have wolf heads and human bodies. They call themselves "the ultimate life forms" (究極の生命体 / kyūkyoku no seimeitai), and according to their official backstory, they were created in the year 19XX by a genius biologist named Jimee Hendrixx (hobby: guitar).

The gimmick might sound purely comical, but the music is anything but a joke. MWAM blends alternative rock, metal, rap, and electronic elements into a high-energy hybrid sound that has made them one of Japan's most distinctive rock acts since their debut in 2010.

What really put them on the global map, though, was a string of anime theme songs that introduced millions of international viewers to their music. Their key anime credits include:

Tour Dates: From San Francisco to São Paulo to Spain

Americas Leg

The tour opened on May 14 in San Francisco at August Hall, followed two days later by an appearance at Zipangu in Los Angeles. Zipangu was billed as the largest overseas music festival to date featuring exclusively Japanese artists, with a capacity of roughly 35,000 at Brookside at the Rose Bowl. The lineup included Ado, ATARASHII GAKKO!, CHANMINA, Yuki Chiba, and 10-FEET.

After Zipangu, MWAM played two cities in Mexico before their first visits to South America: Santiago, Chile and São Paulo, Brazil. Fans in both countries had been asking the band to come for years.

Europe Leg

In June, the wolves crossed the Atlantic for five European headline dates plus a run of festivals.

The highlights include ROCK FOR PEOPLE (Czech Republic's biggest festival, Jun 14), Summer Punch Festival in Warsaw (Jun 18–19), ASIA WAVE FEST 2026 in Milan (Jun 27), and Resurrection Fest 2026 in Galicia, Spain (Jul 1), where MWAM played the main stage alongside Iron Maiden and Limp Bizkit. A Japanese rock band on that stage at a long-running European metal festival says something about where J-Rock now sits.

The headline shows included first-ever visits to Budapest (Hungary), Aarau and Monthey (Switzerland), and Dresden and Stuttgart (Germany).

Tickets for the Americas leg went on sale February 21, 2026, with the San Francisco show opening a day earlier at 12:00 PM PT on February 20. European dates went on sale the same day.
